Position Overview
The Estimator for Single Family Homes will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs and budgets for residential construction projects. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on schedule, contributing to the overall success of the construction team.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret blueprints and drawings for single family home projects.
- Conduct material takeoffs to determine quantities and costs of materials needed for construction.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for custom and production homes based on project specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to develop project schedules and timelines.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure that all estimates meet company standards and client expectations.
- Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors regarding project estimates and any changes to costs or schedules.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as an estimator in residential construction, particularly in single family homes.
- Strong skills in blueprint reading and material takeoffs.
- Knowledge of project scheduling techniques and quality control practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
