About the Role

\n

NowThis is seeking an experienced Development Producer to join our Studio team in Los Angeles. This is a full-time position covered by the Writers Guild of America East (WGAE) collective bargaining agreement. The role is responsible for developing original unscripted series, branded content, and premium digital programming from concept through greenlight. The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller with strong editorial instincts, exceptional pitching abilities, and experience collaborating across creative, production, and commercial teams.

The Development Producer will identify compelling stories, build scalable content formats, create pitch materials, and help shape projects that align with both audience interests and business objectives.

What You'll Do

\n

    \n
  • Develop original content concepts, formats, and series for digital and streaming platforms.
  • \n

  • Research trends, talent, and emerging stories to identify new programming opportunities.
  • \n

  • Create written pitches, creative decks, treatments, and presentation materials for internal and external partners.
  • \n

  • Collaborate with executives, producers, editorial teams, and brand partnerships to develop commercially viable programming.
  • \n

  • Participate in creative brainstorms and contribute innovative ideas that reflect the NowThis voice.
  • \n

  • Conduct research, pre-interviews, and story development for potential projects.
  • \n

  • Help package projects by identifying hosts, talent, experts, and production partners.
  • \n

  • Support project handoffs into production by maintaining creative continuity and documentation.
  • \n

  • Track development pipelines, timelines, and project status across multiple initiatives.
  • \n

  • Stay informed on trends across social media, streaming, documentary, and unscripted television.
  • \n

Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • 4–7 years of experience in development, production, or creative development for digital media, television, streaming, or documentary content.
  • \n

  • Proven experience developing successful original content from concept through pitch.
  • \n

  • Excellent writing, storytelling, and presentation skills.
  • \n

  • Strong understanding of digital audiences and social-first content strategies.
  • \n

  • Experience creating pitch decks and visual presentations.
  • \n

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • \n

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • \n

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • \n

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Keynote, PowerPoint, and project management tools.
  • \n

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing branded content or working with commercial teams.
  • \n

  • Existing relationships with production companies, talent, or industry partners.
  • \n

  • Knowledge of current trends across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and streaming platforms.

Compensation & Benefits- STAFF

\n

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $80-90K. An employee's position within this range will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs.
