A nursing opportunity is available for a Med/Surg Registered Nurse with strong clinical skills and trauma-level II experience. This 13-week contract position offers a chance to contribute to quality patient care on a 41-bed Med/Surg unit in Boonville, IN, providing post-surgical and acute care for diverse patients.

Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to Med/Surg patients, including those with post-surgical needs, UTIs, sepsis, COPD, CHF, and high fall risk
- Utilize critical thinking and assessment skills to manage complex situations such as chest tubes, NG/PEG tubes, tracheostomies, and PCA management
- Administer blood/blood products and Heparin drips safely and effectively
- Participate in unit float assignments between Deaconess Newburgh and Henderson campuses when required
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes within a teaching hospital environment
- Chart patient care using EPIC, following orientation and checkoff requirements
- Support unit operations with reliable attendance, professionalism, and resilience under change
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active compact RN license with current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 2 years Med/Surg nursing experience, including at least one travel assignment and trauma Level II exposure
- Recent EPIC charting experience mandatory
- Skilled in managing remote telemetry, Foley/straight catheters, ostomies, and tracheostomy care
- Strong critical thinking and patient assessment abilities
- Adaptable, hardworking, and able to foster positive team interactions
Schedule & Requirements:
- 12-hour night shifts, typically 6:30 PM 7:00 AM
- Guaranteed 36 hours weekly; option to work 48 hours with overtime after 52 hours
- Weekend coverage: 3 weekends every 6-week schedule and alternating holidays
- First to float within skill set with 2-hour notice for cross-campus shifts
- Scrubs required without competing logos; teaching hospital setting with potential precepting duties
