Job Title: Building Engineer III
Job Description
As a Building Engineer III, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing building systems, including plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, and electrical systems. You will ensure all work performed adheres to required safety codes and report modifications and repairs into the CMMS for review. Additionally, you will operate HVAC systems and make necessary adjustments to building automation systems, while monitoring and ensuring quality control of subcontractors performing maintenance or repairs.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot building systems.
- Repair plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, and electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety codes.
- Report modifications and repairs into CMMS.
- Operate and adjust building automation systems.
- Monitor and ensure quality control of subcontractor work.
Essential Skills
- Proficient in troubleshooting all types of building systems.
- Ability to read trade-related electrical, mechanical, and plumbing drawings.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of energy management systems and building VAV systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to perform 24-hour on-call and off-hour duty.
- May require carrying and maintaining government credentials.
- Additional vocational coursework in HVAC, electricity, or plumbing preferred.
- Universal CFC certified.
- State Certified Journeyman’s license or equivalent.
- DC 3rd grade stationary license preferred.
- Minimum of five years of relevant work experience.
- Must pass an internal technical assessment.

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
