Job Summary: The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the production output in the department under their direction is completed at the expected production rate while maintaining a high standard of safety and quality.
The successful candidate will be a reliable, self-motivated, results-oriented individual who possesses and utilizes their strong organizational, technical and mechanical skills to motivate those around him/her through exemplary leadership.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Supervise the activities of the department by adhering to established procedures and approved processes.
- Oversee and be able to troubleshoot all production operations in the department. This includes understanding the relevant production equipment, examples of such equipment would be: CNC routing machines, coil handling equipment, automated presses, roll formers, automated screw feeders, riveters or glue equipment.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate departmental activities to fulfill production orders, meet inventory requirements, and deliver manufactured products in a timely manner.
- The individual will be involved daily in production planning activities, and will be required to make frequent decisions and changes to increase efficiency and throughput; this will require intimate knowledge of the production line and the incoming orders.
- Have a thorough knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment and be able to apply this knowledge to devise and implement improvements.
- Must provide management personnel with data-driven production updates by submitting daily reports and occasionally creating or collecting other types of production data that would be helpful in analyzing performance.
- Communicate continuously and work harmoniously with supervisors in other departments, and/or shifts, to ensure that resources are deployed effectively.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Must be familiar with the product’s construction and application.
- Must promote a safe work environment.
- Must be able to handle disciplinary matters that may arise with employees.
- Assist in quality training of employees.
- Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have an advanced degree, or equivalent experience, in a technical field with at least three years of progressive manufacturing experience with supervisory or group leader responsibilities.
- Have the flexibility to work on different shifts, when required, to meet production or project goals.
- Be an advanced computer user, particularly in shop floor control, production planning, and inventory control applications. Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook is a must. Broad understanding of SAP and Production Control Interfaces a major plus.
- Experience in overseeing a continuous assembly line is a plus.
- Testing will need to be performed on a daily basis to determine the quality process, being able to follow basic test procedures is a must.

- The successful candidate must be a highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently or collaboratively as a member of a team; above all, must be solutions oriented.
- Must exhibit strong leadership skills as well as possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and easily adapt to changing situations.
Essential Physical Functions:
- Be able to safely lift or move at least 50lbs
- Be able to safely climb stairs or a ladder
Equipment Used:
Computer, Calculator, Blueprints, Scales, Measuring Devices of all types and other equipment as required.
