Job Title: Lab Technician

Job Description

The Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that food safety and quality standards are consistently met. This position involves performing necessary testing on raw materials and finished goods and ensuring compliance with quality requirements in relation to certifications, customer expectations, and state and federal standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine chemical analysis on raw materials and finished products, including testing for pH, moisture, salt, and fat content.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, GMPs, and GLPs.
  • Conduct data entry and maintain records as required by lab SOPs.
  • Assist with product sampling, inspection, testing, and support the hold and release program.
  • Provide feedback to managers and the production team regarding quality-related discrepancies and violations.
  • Participate in facility visits and audits, retrieving documentation during the audit process.

Essential Skills

  • Basic laboratory skills including pH, moisture, salt, and fat testing.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of quality control, food science, and food manufacturing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science (biology, chemistry, food science, or related field)

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of ELGIN, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
