Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate pediatric Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our clinic in West Haven, UT. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services that help patients achieve their habilitation goals. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for individuals learning new skills and meeting developmental milestones. Mentorship provided. Paid for all scheduled hours onsite.


Duties

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of individualized care plans for patients.
  • Providing direct patient care, including therapeutic activities and exercises to improve daily living skills.
  • Monitoring patient progress and reporting changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Utilizing knowledge of human development to assess patient needs and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Engaging patients in meaningful activities that promote occupational health and well-being and consult with parents for home programs.


Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
  • A current COTA license for the state of Utah.
  • Knowledge of physiology and human development with its application in therapeutic settings.
  • Experience in pediatric out-patient therapy.
  • Familiarity with standardized testing in a pediatrics setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and team members.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality patient care while fostering a supportive environment.
  • SIPT & feeding certificate ideal.


Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 16 – 20 per week (Afternoons)
