- Schedule: 4 Days/Week | 38 Hours
- Shift: Day Shift
- Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (8.5-hour shifts)
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) for a contract assignment in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong Med/Surg background along with expertise in wound, ostomy, and continence care (WOCN).
This role involves performing comprehensive patient assessments, developing and implementing care plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct focused health assessments related to wound, ostomy, and continence care
- Perform physical assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Monitor, evaluate, and document patient response to wound care treatments
- Identify patients at risk for pressure injuries and implement preventive measures
- Educate patients, families, and staff on wound care management and prevention
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Support development and maintenance of clinical standards and best practices
- Assist with selection and management of wound care supplies and specialty equipment
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits
- Contribute to staff education and training programs
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience
- Experience in wound care and colostomy management required
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited program (required)
Licensure & Certifications
- Active New York State RN License (required)
- NYSED Primary Source Verification (required)
- AHA BLS Certification (required)
- One of the following certifications (required):
- CWOCN – Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse
- CWON – Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse
- CWCN – Certified Wound Care Nurse
- CWS – Certified Wound Specialist
- WCC – Wound Care Certified
