Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid licensure as a Physical Therapist
- Experience or strong interest working in a K-12 school setting
- Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and best practices
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and organization skills to collaborate with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations to determine students’ needs for physical therapy services
- Create and execute tailored treatment plans to promote student mobility and independence
- Work closely with educators, support staff, and families, providing guidance on accommodations and classroom modifications
- Document student progress and maintain timely, accurate records in compliance with school requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing professional recommendations to help shape educational plans
- Adapt therapy interventions to fit the classroom environment and each student's unique abilities
