Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher specializing in Elementary Self-Contained settings. This role involves leading a classroom of elementary students with a range of learning levels and exceptionalities, providing tailored educational support in alignment with each student's needs.
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Duration: January 5, 2026 May 28, 2026
Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week (7 hours per day)
Setting: On-site at one elementary school (specific site to be confirmed)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to elementary students in a self-contained Exceptional Student Education (ESE) classroom
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to diverse learning needs
- Monitor and document student progress, adapting teaching methods as needed to support growth
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to foster a positive learning environment
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations related to special education
Qualifications:
- Active Florida Special Education (ESE) certification
- Active Florida General Education certification (K-6 or PK-3)
- Experience working with elementary students with varying exceptionalities
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
