Overview: As an Orthodontic Dental Assistant, you'll be a vital part of our orthodontic team, directly assisting the orthodontist and ensuring exceptional patient care. This role requires clinical skill, a strong understanding of orthodontic procedures, and a compassionate approach to patient interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Chairside Assisting: Efficiently assist the orthodontist during all procedures, including bonding, wire changes, appliance placement, and debonding.
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for treatment, ensure their comfort, and provide clear oral hygiene instructions.
- Clinical Support: Take dental impressions and radiographs, sterilize instruments, and manage operatory setup and breakdown.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and guardians on appliance care, diet, and proper oral hygiene techniques.
- Inventory & Lab: Monitor and restock clinical supplies; manage and prepare lab cases.
- Documentation: Accurately chart patient information and treatment progress.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous dental assisting experience required; orthodontic experience strongly preferred.
- Certifications: Current Dental Assistant (DA) certification/registration, Radiology certification, and CPR certification.
- Skills: Proficient in dental software, excellent communication and organizational skills, detail-oriented, and patient-focused.
