Provide specialized nursing care in a fast-paced step-down unit, focusing on patients transitioning from intensive care. This contract opportunity offers a night shift schedule from 7 PM to 7 AM with no call, no block scheduling, and a floating requirement, ideal for experienced RNs seeking a dynamic clinical environment.
Location & Setting:Located in Clarksville, TN, this role is set within a 121-bed medical center equipped with Cerner EMR, serving a diverse patient population with a patient ratio of approximately 1:4. The step-down unit utilizes navy scrubs and supports nurses in delivering exceptional care to critically ill patients stepping down from ICU levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the step-down unit
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and response to treatment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Utilize electronic medical records (Cerner) for documentation and communication
- Adapt to floating assignments within nursing units as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Tennessee RN license required
- Minimum 1 year overall nursing experience and 1-2 years specifically in step-down or ICU settings
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Ability to work night shifts and float across units
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
Schedule:
- Nights, 7 PM to 7 AM
- No call, no block schedules, no 48-hour shifts
