Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher to support students at Howe Elementary School. This position is based in a resource setting and involves collaboration with a shared paraprofessional to support student learning and success.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide special education services to a caseload of approximately 15–20 students
· Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
· Deliver instruction in a resource classroom setting
· Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
· Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state and district special education requirements
· Support student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
Qualifications
· Required: Valid Illinois LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1) license
· Experience working in an elementary school setting preferred
· Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required
· Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Day Shift | 4x8 hours (7:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
