A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position is available for a contract term from January 5, 2026, to approximately June 12, 2026. This opportunity is based in Claremont, NH, primarily serving elementary school students.
Responsibilities include providing occupational therapy services to a caseload of 32 students, with 22 receiving direct support and 10 receiving consultative services. The main work site is an elementary school where the caseload involves children in a safe-contained classroom setting, predominantly students with Autism Spectrum Disorder requiring level 3 supports, as well as students in general education classrooms from kindergarten through fifth grade. Additional weekly visits to a second elementary school and a middle school are required to deliver services to students in various educational placements, including self-contained, general education, and consultative settings.
The position offers up to 37.5 hours per week, with part-time options available (four days at 30 hours or three days at 22.5 hours) depending on candidate availability. Travel between buildings is minimal and part of the routine schedule.
Qualifications:
- Must hold current state certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Experience working with children on the autism spectrum and in educational settings highly preferred
- Ability to manage a mixed caseload including direct and consultative services
- Strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate services across multiple sites
- Flexibility to adapt scheduling and caseload as needed
