Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available at a high school in Gladstone, Oregon, serving students with mild to moderate disabilities. This role focuses on providing specialized instruction in a learning center/resource classroom environment, supporting a caseload of approximately 30 students.
Qualified candidates must hold a valid Oregon Special Education license for high school mild/moderate disabilities. Experience in working with high school-aged students in a special education setting is essential to effectively meet the individual needs of learners. Support is provided through district supervision, including paraeducators or similar staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with mild to moderate disabilities.
- Deliver specialized instruction in alignment with state standards and student needs within the resource classroom.
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress, collaborating closely with families, general education teachers, and support staff.
- Facilitate a positive learning environment that promotes student independence and social-emotional growth.
- Participate in team meetings and maintain compliance with district policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Valid Oregon Special Education teaching license for mild/moderate disabilities at the high school level.
- Demonstrated experience with high school special education learners.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary educational team.
