Job DescriptionAccounts Receivable Clerk The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for managing the invoicing and collections process to ensure timely and accurate receipt of payments. This role plays a key part in maintaining the financial health of the organization by tracking outstanding balances, communicating with clients, and resolving payment issues. This position is a 3–6-month temporary role that has a chance to go permanent. Pay for this role will range between $18 and $23/hr. depending on experience. Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and distribute customer invoices based on contract terms and billing schedules.
- Monitor accounts for incoming payments and follow up on overdue balances.
- Contact clients via phone and email to resolve payment delays and discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions, adjustments, and communications.
- Apply payments to customer accounts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing issues and ensure invoice accuracy.
- Prepare aging reports and escalate delinquent accounts as needed.
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.
- Support audits by providing documentation and transaction history.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred
- 1–2 years of experience in accounts receivable or general accounting
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
