Pride Health is hiring a Pathology Assistant V to support our client’s medical facility, which is based in Boston, MA.

This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!


Location: Pathology Assistant

Schedule: 8 am-4:30 pm Mon-Fri (40hrs/week)

Pay Range: $50/hr- $ 63/hr (Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.) The rate is based on years of DIRECT EXPERIENCE as listed in the resume


Job Responsibilities

  • Perform complete specimen dissection (grossing), gross description, and selection/submission of tissue for microscopic examination and special studies in accordance with departmental guidelines
  • Follow established laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, and documentation
  • Adhere to laboratory quality control and quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Assist with rotations and assigned duties in other areas of the department as needed, ensuring timely completion of tasks
  • Maintain a professional, organized, and compliant laboratory environment
  • Identify issues that may negatively impact test performance or result reporting and take appropriate corrective or reporting action
  • Uphold high ethical standards and integrity in all aspects of laboratory work
  • Demonstrate knowledge of hazardous waste management, personal protective equipment (PPE), and bloodborne pathogen safety
  • Perform frozen section cutting when required (experience preferred)


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related science
  • Graduation from a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant (PA) program (no prior work experience required upon completion)
  • Ability to pass a standardized color vision screening
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
  • Proficiency with computers and basic software applications
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety practices, including hazardous waste management and personal protection measures
  • Flexibility to work overtime or alternative shifts based on business needs
