Location: Westport, NY


About ClientOur client operates a highly regarded summer music camp and residential conservatory program located in the Adirondacks. Students arrive from domestic and international music institutions to participate in advanced programming and ensemble activity. The environment is immersive, structured, and physically active, making comprehensive health management essential throughout the duration of residency.Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $1,500–$1,700 per week, open to negotiation
  • Starting Bonus: No signing bonus offered
  • Relocation Assistance: Travel stipend included
  • Shift: Full-time, onsite with rotating days off (typically weekends)
  • Benefits Package:
    • Room and board (private room with AC)
    • All meals provided from June 16 to August 9
    • Access to a wide range of on-campus amenities used by students



Job SummaryThis individual acts as the primary medical authority onsite, managing all care decisions, documentation, and safety measures within a 3-bed infirmary. The Head Nurse also supports medication management, triage response, and supervision of all medical activities related to campers and staff.
Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee campsite-wide medical readiness
  • Conduct physical screenings and health intake processing
  • Lead urgent response efforts in collaboration with directors
  • Maintain controlled medication records and dispensing schedules
  • Maintain sanitation standards for infirmary and supplies
  • Facilitate external care visits including transport
  • Communicate health updates to families and staff
  • Track and mitigate potential communicable illnesses


Minimum Requirements

  • New York Registered Nurse or LPN license in good standing (or pending eligibility)
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certifications
  • Ability to reside onsite and take part-time on-call coverage
  • Demonstrated comfort working with adolescent and young adult populations

Ideal Qualifications

  • Previous experience in schools, camps, or student housing settings
  • Ability to prioritize, assess, and resolve clinical needs quickly
  • Strong verbal communication
  • Wilderness First Aid desirable
