Manufacturing Laboratory Technician
Position: Full Time, Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Location: Onsite - La Place, Louisiana USA
Summary of Position:
The position of Manufacturing Laboratory Technician is a 12-hour rotating shift-work position where you will be responsible for running in process and final product samples for a continuously running process. Samples are analyzed via GC, LC and Titration and results are inputted into a database for access by the plant.
This position requires a high level of organization, high levels of safety, excellent communication and attention to detail. In this position you will be required to manage your time effectively to process results to the process in a timely manner.
Lab Technician Desired Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelors degree in chemistry or other related Science discipline with at least 12 hours of college chemistry.
- Experience and or hands-on training in QC/QA Lab
- Competency to conduct laboratory work with minimal supervision and deliver results in a timely manner.
- Ability to critically evaluate analysis data.
- Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective organizational and record-keeping skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, e-mail and schedule programs, and willingness to learn specialized computer software.
Duties
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Provide and maintain a safe work environment by participating in safety programs, committees, or teams and by conducting laboratory or plant safety audits.
- Prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
- Providing information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, radio, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
- Provide timely and complete information face to face with relieving shifts to communicate any issues in lab operation and proper relaying of lab, instrument and sample status.
- Prepare samples as prescribed in Laboratory Methods.
- Analyze chemical compounds or substances.
- Maintain laboratory or technical equipment.
- Evaluate quality of materials or products.
- Ability to work alone and as a member of a team.
- Be an active member of plant Emergency Response Team.
- Record sample results in computerized and paper data systems.
