Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years MS RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Med/Surg Registered Nurse with strong critical thinking and clinical skills is needed for a 13-week contract assignment in a hospital setting located in Newburgh, IN, approximately 8 miles from campus. This position offers a night shift schedule with a guaranteed minimum of 36 hours per week, with the option to work up to 48 hours. Overtime applies after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts.

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 PM 7:00 AM
• Three weekends scheduled every six weeks
• Floating within skillset to Newburgh and Henderson campuses (advance notice provided)
• No on-call or call-back required

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active, current compact RN license
• AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years strong Med/Surg experience, including one travel assignment
• Experience in Level II Trauma units preferred
• Recent EPIC electronic health record charting experience (checkoff class required)
• Proficient with remote telemetry, chest tubes, NG/PEG tubes, catheterizations, ostomies, heparin drips, blood/blood product administration, tracheostomy care, and PCA management
• Strong assessment skills and critical thinking ability
• Resilient, adaptable, and socially engaging team player

Unit and Patient Population:

• 41-bed Med/Surg unit supporting post-surgical, UTI, sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, and CHF patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6-7 overnight
• Experienced leadership and CNA support
• Teaching hospital environment; precepting students and new hires may be required

• Scrubs without competing agency or healthcare system logos required
• COVID-19 vaccine currently not mandatory (subject to change)
• Orientation schedule may vary; guaranteed hours begin post-orientation
• Strong attendance essential; three call-ins can lead to termination
