Job Title: Medical Assistant/ CMA / RMA III
Department(s): Clinical Operations
Reports to: Clinical Supervisor

Job Summary:
Join our dynamic team as a Medical Assistant in a fast-paced clinical environment. The Medical Assistant III will play a crucial role in coordinating communications between providers and patients, accurately scribing consultations, ensuring quality patient care, and supporting billing processes through meticulous documentation. Success in this role requires effective relationship-building with all team members and a commitment to maintaining organized and precise documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all imaging is sent out as ordered by the provider.
  • Maintain a controlled inventory of sample medications received at the clinic.
  • Review all notes for grammatical accuracy and completeness regarding patient diagnoses.
  • Interpret results of waived tests and take appropriate action based on results.
  • Perform patient care in an environment that optimizes safety and minimizes healthcare errors.
  • Follow up on lab send-outs and cultures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
  • Assist in transporting patients, including those requiring the use of a wheelchair.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical office setting.
  • Medical Assistant Certification required OR completion of a 6-month externship.
  • Strong time management, organization, attention to detail, and quality focus.
  • Professionalism and productivity with a thorough approach to tasks.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Typing speed of at least 35 wpm.
  • BLS Certification required.

Working Environment / Location of Position:

  • Position involves sitting, using a computer, and answering phones.
  • Ability to travel to all clinic locations required.
  • Experience in a multi-specialty surgery/clinic environment preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Work performed in an office environment with frequent public interaction.
  • May encounter stressful situations, including interactions with upset individuals.

Physical/Mental Demands:

  • Requires hand dexterity for operating office machines and filing supplies.
  • Mobility for errands and sitting for extended periods is necessary.
  • Visual and auditory acuity is needed to communicate effectively with colleagues and patients.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
