Job Title: Dietitian
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Dietitian to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to acquire new skills and take on additional work assignments. This role involves active participation in patient care-planning rounds and communication of nutrition-related concerns and interventions. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive nutrition education to patients and their families, and for completing both inpatient nutritional assessments and reassessments.
Responsibilities
- Maintain availability to healthcare team members during work hours.
- Participate in bed-side rounds and patient care meetings as assigned.
- Communicate nutrition problems, concerns, and recommended interventions to the healthcare team.
- Complete patient and care provider nutrition education on specialized nutrition programs.
- Provide reference education materials and coordinate discharge plans with case managers and home care agencies.
- Document education and interventions in the medical record.
- Conduct inpatient nutritional assessments and reassessments within scheduled timeframes.
- Implement appropriate interventions to improve patients' nutritional outcomes.
- Mentor dietetic technicians and act as a clinical preceptor to dietetic students and other healthcare team members.
- Respond to referrals and consults from physicians and healthcare team members.
- Evaluate medical records, conduct patient interviews, and identify nutrition-related problems.
- Determine and document appropriate interventions and desired patient outcomes.
- Monitor changes in nutritional status and modify nutrition plans as necessary.
- Ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate.
Essential Skills
- Two years of experience in acute care.
- Experience working in a Level 3 or Level 4 acute setting.
- Proficiency in EPIC systems.
- Knowledge and experience with TPN Calculations.
- Familiarity with different calculation references and formularies.
- Ability to handle complex diagnoses.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with electrolyte calculations and general feeding protocols.
- Experience working in larger hospital settings, managing up to 10 patients per day.
Work Environment
The position focuses on the Critical Care and Oral teams of the Adult Hospital, with working hours from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, including every other weekend. The role requires managing 10-12 patient cases, with the department handling 20-25 cases per week. The current need is on-site, with full-time hours required during the training period of four weeks. Candidates may have the option to supplement hours or work alternative schedules after the training period.

This is a Contract position based out of Loma Linda, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
