Join the team at D'Amico Hospitality! We are hiring for Prep Cooks! Must be available to work Monday-Friday 8am-4pm and some Saturdays as well.

The Prep Cook is responsible to ensure food quality and the timely delivery of dishes. This position will work closely with other kitchen staff to complete orders by gathering necessary ingredients and distributing them to different stations throughout the kitchen. The Prep Cook must oversee specific cooking tasks and conduct regular inventory checks of produce to determine ordering requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Demonstrate proficiency in all D'Amico Hospitality menu recipes, adhering to company standards and specifications.
  2. Follow the prep list provided by the Chef or Kitchen Manager, completing tasks in the specified order.
  3. Handle washing, chopping, and sorting of ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, and meats.
  4. Accurately measure quantities of seasonings and other cooking ingredients.
  5. Utilize various kitchen equipment including meat slicers, flat tops, deep fryers, grills, and combination ovens.
  6. Maintain compliance with all relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards.
  7. Track ingredient inventory and collaborate with kitchen and management staff to order necessary supplies.
  8. Assisting in the preparation of sauces, dressings, and other condiments.
  9. Organize and stock kitchen stations before and after meal periods.
  10. Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  11. Properly store food items to maintain freshness and prevent contamination.
  12. Assist in the receiving and storage of deliveries.
  13. Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow.
  14. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including proper handling of knives and other kitchen tools.
  15. Provide support during busy periods by helping with dishwashing or other tasks as needed.
  16. Contribute ideas for menu improvements or new dish creations.
  17. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to all staff and guests, most of whom speak English.
  2. Must have manual hand and finger dexterity for adept use kitchen tools and utensils.
  3. Must be able to bend, lift, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
  4. Must be able to work in temperature extremes and a noisy kitchen environment.
  5. Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for period up to ten hours in length.
  6. Must have the ability to consistently arrive at work for all scheduled shifts as assigned.
  7. Must have flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  8. Must be able to taste the majority of menu items to ensure compliance with specifications.
