Job Summary: The Transportation Supervisor oversees and monitors daily activities on the assigned shift to ensure timely, safe, and efficient Transportation/Loading operations.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Communicates work assignments with team members on daily basis.
- Maintains contact with loaders/drivers; ensures communications from start of shift throughout loading process.
- Responds appropriately to accidents and other emergency situations.
- Oversees compliance with safety regulations.
- Ensure all equipment complies with safety standards and are in working order.
- Builds and maintains positive working relationships with customers (both internal and external); addresses complaints and works to resolve them quickly.
- Prepares reports related to loading of trucks and the paperwork required prior to preparing the load and after load is completed and audited.
- Participates in the development of long-range plans and goals.
- Verify the accurate loading of product in a secure and safe manner, confirm that photo’s were taken during the loading process.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or bachelor’s degree in Transportation or Logistics highly preferred.
- At least three years of related work experience with a proven ability to schedule and manage others highly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work well under deadlines and pressure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Essential Mental/Physical Functions:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry, balance, bend, crouch, and kneel to carry work-related supplies and equipment and to inspect vehicles.
Equipment Used: Computers, scanners, company equipment, etc.
Travel: 10%
