Support students across K-12 classrooms as an Educational Assistant/Paraprofessional in White Rock, NM. This full-time, contract role (August 5, 2025 May 29, 2026) focuses on inclusion classrooms and resource/learning centers, assisting students with a range of severe disabilities and behavioral challenges from elementary through high school levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support instruction and student engagement
- Assist students in learning foundational skills, such as letter names and sounds
- Implement behavior management strategies to deescalate challenging situations
- Support students with diverse disability and behavioral needs within inclusion and resource settings
- Participate in additional trainings as needed (e.g., CPI, Braille) to enhance support skills
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid New Mexico drivers license
- Mandated Educational Assistant license and/or Substitute Teacher license (current or obtainable)
- High school diploma required
- Experience working with children with disabilities and/or behavioral challenges
- Previous classroom experience preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus
- Ability to adapt and respond empathetically to student behaviors and needs
