Job Summary
Position is responsible for repairs and maintenance of all Roads and Grounds related engine equipment, both gas and diesel. Maintains equipment inventory and equipment maintenance records. Serves as a lead person on all Roads and Grounds maintenance crew when needed.
Position Type
This is a regular full-time position.
Essential Functions
· Responsible for maintenance and repair of small engines, both gas and diesel, including hydraulic equipment.
· Responsible for sharpening all types of mowers.
· Operates all equipment, and be available to use this equipment when needed.
· Performs preventative maintenance work, such as checking oil and fluid levels on allequipment.
· Maintains inventory records on repairs made, parts ordered, and parts inventory.
· Able to communicate effectively
· Must have strong organizational and time-management skills
· The ability to follow directions
· Required to have good record-keeping skills to manage materials and expenses
· Mechanical skills are necessary to make simple repairs

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and /or Abilities Required)
· Must possess a high school diploma (GED) and some experience in grounds maintenance/horticulture activities; or any equivalent combination of education combination of education and experience that would provide the noted knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess basic knowledge of safety procedures, pruning methods and standard practices/terminology of the trade. Must possess basic working knowledge of, and the ability to safely operate all hand tools and power equipment used in landscaping activities. Must possess working knowledge and skills in the operation and repair of landscape equipment. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver’s License with a Good driving record.
Work Environment
· The job involves the operation of equipment that might be dangerous, such as chain saws and lawnmowers requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly exposed to loud noise levels; fumes or airborne particles from engine exhaust; outside weather conditions; wet and /or humid conditions; and extreme heat and/or cold; and exposure to insects and animal bites and stings; and exposure to poisoinus plants. Duties are typically performed outdoors in a ground maintenance environment with some work indoors when performing maintenance on equipment. Overtime hours will be required periodically and is a condition of employement.
