Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Providing specialized care in a progressive care unit (PCU) setting requires skilled and experienced nursing professionals. This opportunity involves working as a Stepdown RN within a combined Med-Surg and Stepdown unit, caring for patients with diverse diagnoses including heart failure, sickle cell, and other medical-surgical conditions.

Responsibilities
- Manage patient care on a 12-bed PCU unit with nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:4 to 1:5 depending on acuity
- Administer and titrate set-rate drips as part of patient treatment plans
- Perform nursing duties including pulling labs, monitoring patient status, and coordinating with healthcare team members
- Collaborate with charge nurses who maintain assignments and oversee unit operation
- Participate in self-scheduling, every other weekend shifts, and scheduled holiday coverage
- Adhere to unit policies including dress code requirements (navy scrubs)
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with minimum 2 years of experience in a similar hospital setting
- Successful completion of at least one travel nursing assignment required
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Solid PCU skillset including telemetry monitoring and drip titration
- Ability to pass a clinical resume review for consideration
- Must comply with the 100-mile radius rule; local candidates are not eligible
Additional Information
- One-day computer skills orientation plus two shifts with a preceptor for unit-specific training
- No call, standby, or floating assignments required
- No tele/monitor tech support; nurses are not required to read their own telemetry strips
- Nurses pull their own labs; phlebotomy is not required
