About Us
Colorado International Language Academy (CILA) is a unique international charter school offering language immersion (50% in 1st-5th grades) in three world languagesMandarin Chinese, German, and Spanish. Our students not only learn math and language literacy, but also gain insight into cultural aspects of their target language, fostering a GLOBAL perspective. Position Overview:
We are seeking passionate and dedicated substitute teachers for the 2024/25 school year who can step in and support our students learning when full-time teachers are unavailable. Substitute teachers play a vital role in maintaining the continuity of learning and creating a positive, engaging classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction in place of regular classroom teachers, following the teachers lesson plans or, if necessary, adapting plans to meet the needs of students.
- Support English language literacy, including reading comprehension, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, and writing, for elementary students.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
- Supervise students in various settings including classrooms, recess, lunchtime, and during transitions.
- Maintain classroom routines and support students with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Collaborate with staff and follow school protocols for instructional support and behavior management.
- Escort students to and from different locations as needed (e.g., lunchroom, playground, etc.).

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or higher (Education degree preferred, but not required).
- Experience working with diverse student populations is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to escort and supervise students in various settings.
- Ability to stand for long periods and engage in physical activity, including stooping, kneeling, and supervising outdoor activities.
- Comfortable with varied weather conditions during outdoor supervision.

Additional Information:
Substitute teachers are on an on-call basis and hours may vary depending on the needs of the school. CILA provides a supportive and collaborative working environment where educators and staff are dedicated to the success of our students.
