Job Description

The production welder joins metal parts together to create structural forms, such as tanks, pressure vessels, etc. They use a variety of welding processes, including gas welding, shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), metal inert gas (MIG) welding, and tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding.

We are looking for someone with the ability to operate and /or use related equipment and tools which include stick, wire feed, TIG, forklifts, hoists, slings, grinders (portable & bench), cutting torches, hand tools, drills, punches, a tape measure, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for welding steel, aluminum and stainless-steel materials using SMAW, GTAW and/or GMAW, FCAW processes in all positions.
  • Proficient in 3G, 4G plate, 6G pipe welding.
  • Proficiency in Flux Cored and Shielded Metal Arc Welding
  • 80-120 inches of welds an hour (wire/MIG) Minimum
  • 40-50 inches of welds an hour (stick) Minimum
  • Weld steel, aluminum and stainless-steel components based on the required weld processes and parameters
  • Adhere to the specific welding procedure specifications
  • Analyze and interpret blueprints, charts and technical drawings
  • Fabrication and repairing metal through appropriate welding techniques.
  • Ability to select required welding filler materials, joint design, heat ranges and most effective or required welding process/procedure to ensure quality welding operations
  • Ensuring products meet quality standards
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

  • 5+ year experience as a welder
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines for project needs, utilizing efficiency and organizational skills to ensure completion on time.
  • Problem solving ability and skill level to adapt to changing project requirements
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures
  • Current Welder Certification, and
  • Ability to pass ABS cert on a 6G pipe with a SMAW.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift 80 lbs. without restriction. Position involves lifting, pulling, and operating heavy equipment and objects.
  • Agility to bend, stoop, or squat, and climb high steps/ladders frequently and navigating uneven and moving surfaces.
  • Physical dexterity and strength to operate deck machinery; work on equipment that is poorly accessible or in confined workspaces.
  • Must be able to keep balance/equilibrium while performing duties at various heights.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces for prolonged periods of time.
  • Adequate hearing & vision ability.
  • Proper heat/cold tolerance, working in all weather conditions.
  • Comfortable working while exposed to grease, dirt, paint, water, etc.

Salary:

$33.00-$38.00 DOE
