Aegis Worldwide is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to support the setup, operation, and production of high-precision components within a regulated machining environment. This role involves working with advanced metal machining, finishing, assembly, and anodizing processes for medical device components. The ideal candidate will maintain ISO 13485 documentation, perform equipment setup, operate CNC machinery, and complete detailed visual and dimensional inspections to ensure product quality.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain CNC equipment including Citizen and Tsugami lathes, Index multi-spindle lathes, 3-4-5 axis production equipment, RoboDrills, Mill-Turn machines, and horizontal/vertical mills.
  • Perform offsets, tool changes, and equipment adjustments to optimize machining efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Set up complex legacy components and new production jobs to ensure smooth and consistent machining operations.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using microscopes, micrometers, calipers, pin/thread gauges, comparators, Micro-Hite, CMM, and vision systems.
  • Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on CNC machinery.
  • Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving activities for machining and process issues; train team members as needed.
  • Complete quality documentation and maintain inspection records aligned with ISO 13485 standards.
  • Ensure proper identification, control, and traceability of materials, including nonconforming products.
  • Support and train others on Quality Best Practices, GDP/GMP, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize ERP and QMS systems to record inspections, manage traceability, and maintain production data.
  • Perform CMM Gauge R&R activities for NPI (Zeiss or similar).
  • Conduct AQL inspections and enter results into the ERP system.
  • Run qualification processes for NPI and ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Complete first article inspections independently.
  • Mentor and support lower-level machinists in developing machining skills.
  • Make basic program adjustments on FANUC or similar robotic systems.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow OSHA standards and PPE requirements.
  • Adhere to all Quality Management System procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Experience in Class I, II, and/or III medical device manufacturing within a regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, ISO, and other regulatory standards.
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining equipment, care, and inspection processes.
  • Ability to use hand tools for preventive maintenance, repair work, and tool changes.
  • Self-starter capable of working independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams in Manufacturing, R&D, and Quality.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical procedures.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience identifying nonconformances and maintaining documentation accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
