Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Traveler
Location: Falmouth, MA
Duration: 13+ Weeks (Extension Possible)
Shift Options: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM OR 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Pay Rate: $50/hour (W2)
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a travel assignment in a long-term care setting. The LPN will provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise daily nursing assistant activities in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. The goal is to ensure the highest quality of resident-centered care at all times.
Primary ResponsibilitiesClinical & Direct Patient Care

Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with physician orders and care plans.

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed; verify resident identity prior to administration.

Perform professional nursing services including:

Catheterization
-
Tube feedings
-
Suctioning
-
Wound care/dressing changes
-
Colostomy and drainage care
-
Blood draws
-
Range of motion exercises
-

Collect and process specimens (urine, blood, sputum) and perform routine lab tests.

Monitor and record vital signs (TPRs, blood pressure, etc.).

Review charts for treatment plans, medication orders, and dietary requirements.

Make physician rounds as necessary and consult with physicians regarding resident care.
Documentation & Compliance

Complete and maintain accurate documentation for admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Transcribe physician orders to charts, medication records, and care plans.

Record detailed nursing notes reflecting care provided and resident response.

Participate in facility surveys and regulatory inspections.

Maintain strict confidentiality of resident health information (HIPAA compliance).
Supervision & Coordination
-
Supervise and direct nursing assistants in daily care activities.
-
Plan shift assignments, services, and activities with nursing staff.

Inform staff of new admissions and coordinate room assignments.

Ensure adequate supply of medications, equipment, and floor stock.

Provide health education to residents and family members.
-
Support orientation of new residents and family members.
Education & Requirements
-
Graduate of an approved LPN program or accredited nursing college.

Active, unencumbered Massachusetts LPN license – Required

BLS/CPR/AED Certification – Required

Minimum ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and meet physical job requirements.
