Job Description
The Assembly Technician is responsible for gathering blueprints, routing sheets, setting specifications, and all related fixtures and tools necessary for assembling products as directed. This role involves moving parts from storage racks to the assembly area, fastening parts together using various fasteners, and assisting in assembly operations using blueprints and test benches. You will also be assembling parts into repair kits and switches, packaging products, and moving them to the shipping department. Additionally, inspecting products before packaging and ensuring conformity to specifications is essential.
Responsibilities
- Gather blueprints, routing sheets, setting specifications, and all related fixtures and tools necessary for product assembly.
- Move parts to assembly area from storage racks.
- Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, or other fasteners.
- Use blueprints, routing sheets, settings specifications, required hand tools and fixtures, and test benches to assist in assembly operations.
- Assemble parts into repair kits and switches, then package and move products to the shipping department.
- Inspect products prior to packaging and return rejected products to production departments.
- Observe packaging operations and inspect containers to verify conformance to specifications.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Tally number of products packaged or record information such as type of products packaged.
- Operate pallet jack to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
- Pack parts properly to prevent damage during transportation to next operation.
Essential Skills
- Mechanical assembly and use of hand tools.
- Ability to read, write, and understand work instructions and blueprints.
- Effective communication with shipping clerks and assembly personnel.
- Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Problem-solving skills, including data collection and interpretation of technical instructions.
- Ability to maintain production rates and high-quality standards.
- Capability to work with limited supervision and within a team environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or nine to eighteen months of related experience and/or training.
- Basic understanding of ISO 9001 standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Mankato, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.90 - $18.90/hr.
