Overview:
In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and contributing to the care planning of peri-operative patients through our pre-admission screening program. Your duties will include collecting health information from surgical patients who register on the day of their procedure. You will assess the information provided and determine the necessary pre-operative preparations for each patient. It is essential to prepare patients promptly while adhering to all hospital policies, procedures, and care standards. You will ensure that any special needs of patients are communicated effectively to the surgical team. Maintaining a high level of nursing competence is crucial to guarantee safe and quality patient care. You will align your work with the organization’s philosophy, mission, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Sensitivity to the needs of patients, families, and colleagues is vital; you will provide professional nursing care tailored to age-specific and culturally diverse needs, manage pain effectively, and report any signs of abuse or neglect. Adherence to safety and infection control protocols is expected to maintain a secure environment for everyone.

Role: RN Admitting Nurse – Med/Surg (Adults/Pediatrics)
Status: Full-Time (36 hours/week)

Position Overview:

As an RN Admitting Nurse, you will be integral in assessing and planning care for peri-operative patients through our pre-admission screening program. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting health information from surgical patients at registration
  • Assessing and planning pre-operative preparation needs
  • Timely preparation of patients while adhering to hospital policies and care standards
  • Communicating any special patient requirements to the surgical team
  • Maintaining nursing competencies to ensure safe, high-quality care

You will uphold our organization’s mission and values, deliver culturally sensitive care, ensure effective pain management, and report any indications of abuse or neglect. Compliance with safety and infection control measures is essential.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited RN program
  • Licensure: Valid RN license in the state of employment or compact licensure
  • Experience: At least 2 years of inpatient hospital experience
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) – or completion within 30 days of hire
    • Unit-specific certifications as required

Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs; prolonged standing and walking; capability to bend, kneel, twist, and squat.Why Work With Us?
