PAYROLL SPECIALIST | DETAILS AND COMPENSATION:

  • Location: Louisville KY 40222– 100% On-site
  • Payrate: $21/hr
  • Required Availability: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

PAYROLL SPECIALIST | SUMMARY AND HIGHLIGHTS:

The Payroll Specialist will support timely and accurate payroll processing for a large, multi-state workforce. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-based environment and enjoys balancing data accuracy with customer service.

  • This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
  • Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
  • A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

PAYROLL SPECIALIST | RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls as part of a large payroll team
  • Support payroll for union and non-union employees across multiple states and territories
  • Enter employee maintenance data and run payroll processes
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
  • Prepare payroll reports, calculate manual checks, and issue stop payments
  • Maintain payroll accuracy and integrity through audits and data analysis
  • Stay current on payroll system updates and regulatory changes
  • Follow payroll policies and procedures while maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Provide customer service and problem resolution to internal staff
  • Manage heavy email and phone communication
  • Multitask and prioritize effectively in a deadline-driven environment

PAYROLL SPECIALIST | REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED (verifiable), Associate degree or technical training preferred
  • Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
  • 1+ years of payroll or data entry required
  • Experience with payroll systems such as ADP and/or Kronos preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong collaboration and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Professional demeanor with a strong customer service mindset
