The Coordinator will provide support, facilitation, and direction to the IL-503 Continuum of Service Providers to the Homeless (CSPH) in support of the body’s mission to end homelessness in Champaign County through client-centered services, community engagement, advocacy, and strategic resource allocation across a comprehensive continuum of service providers and community partners. The Coordinator is responsible for aligning and coordinating efforts across the CSPH membership to advance CSPH goals and ensure compliance with Homeless Emergency and Rapid Transition to Housing (HEARTH) Act regulations. This role involves building and maintaining collaborative partnerships with CSPH members and affiliates, working closely with the CSPH Executive Committee.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in social service, education, or related area. Combination of education and training may be considered.
- Demonstrate excellent listening skills, presentation and public speaking skills, and the ability to share information effectively with diverse audiences.
- Ability to pass criminal background check.
- Strong background in customer services and human services.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Champaign County.
- Strong facilitation and partnership skills, including demonstrated ability to draft agendas, organize and lead meetings, provide formal program presentations, and complete necessary follow up.
- Knowledge of homeless service programs, including eligibility and application process.
- Ability to handle program and customer information in a confidential manner and report concerns as mandated.
- Ability to exercise judgement in interpreting data, applying legislation, and making recommendations and decisions when limited guidance is available.
- Possess strong writing skills to compose documents, reports, and correspondence.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.
- Proficient in English (spelling, punctuation, grammar).
- Ability to attend worksite regularly to perform job duties and responsibilities.
- Ability to perform computer skills needed to complete grant applications, data entry and timesheets.
- Ability to attend program meetings and/or training as required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including periodic evenings and weekends.
- Demonstrated ability to use time management skills to achieve success with schedules, workloads, and deadlines.
Schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., M-F
Worksite: Flexible: office based, home based, or hybrid. Probation period will be primarily conducted in office based setting.
The onsite worksite is located at 1776 E. Washington Street, Urbana, IL 61802.
Status: Full-Time/37.5 hour per week/Flexibility is necessary to support the goals of the program.
Starting Wage: $25.00 - $27.00
