Purpose of Position:
Del Monte Foods (DMC Foods Inc.), the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, is seeking a Customer Supply Chain Manager. The Customer Supply Chain Manager owns the strategic Supply Chain and Replenishment-related relationships between Del Monte and our top customers, with overall objectives of being a value-added partner and developing supply chain as a competitive advantage for Del Monte. This role contributes as expert-level supply chain professional with focus on leading customer-facing supply chain engagements, developing expertise in our customers’ supply chain functions and requirements and sharing that information with impacted internal stakeholders. The CSC Manager partners with Del Monte Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance, and IT teams in developing and executing Supply Chain Management and other advanced Logistics Initiatives to support meeting the company’s scorecard objectives.
Accountabilities:
The CSC Manager must demonstrate the ability to effectively influence key stakeholders and be strong in understanding overall supply chain, replenishment, and logistics operations. This role will be a leader in working cross-functionally to problem-solve and continuously improve Del Monte’s operations to optimize sales, reduce costs, and mitigate business risks.
- Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a partnership with top customers’ supply chain key contacts (e.g., Replenishment, Inventory Control, Vendor Managers, Transportation, Demand Planning, etc.). Partner with Sales team to support strategic planning and execute against growth/volume opportunities through identification and quantification of end-to-end supply chain savings.
- Work as integral part of the Del Monte team presenting replenishment insights reviews and JBP initiatives for top customers.
- Lead End-to-End Customer Collaboration process and periodic customer supply chain business review meetings with top customers with a focus on service metric improvements and mutually beneficial, efficient supply chain solutions.
- Be the expert of focus-customers’ supply chain requirements and be the voice of the customer to internal stakeholders to guide Del Monte in adding value, optimizing sales, reducing costs, and mitigating business risks.
- Own customer KPI/scorecard reporting and lead work to continuously improve performance against customer requirements and KPI goals. Provide proactive communication and action plans to mitigate service risk.
- Work directly in customers’ systems and data (e.g., Retail Link, 84.51, POL, Vendor Central, etc.) to identify opportunities for optimizing Del Monte’s business execution. This includes:
- Analyzing customer replenishment projections, inventory reports, and/or point of sale data to improve total network inventory flows and in stock %.
- Managing vendor compliance programs & supply chain requirements to minimize customer cost to serve fines and supply chain disruptions.
- Monitoring customer scorecards and KPI performance (e.g., OTIF, In Stock / OvS, Fines, etc.) and leveraging this data to define Del Monte supply chain strategies & action plans to optimize.
- Partner internal cross-functional teams to support supply chain planning and execution of Del Monte innovation, promotions, newly accepted items, new points of distribution, network changes, and supply chain-related systems changes. Provide clear indication of potential challenges or opportunities related to inventory and inventory pipeline.
- Support resolution and root cause mitigation of customer deductions with high focus on customer program non-compliance fees/fines.
- Lead and/or support supply chain projects and initiatives as identified continuously improve and add value with our customers.
- Own and elevate strategic customer supply chain partnerships with Del Monte’s top customers, positioning supply chain as a competitive advantage while supporting growth, service excellence, and mutual cost optimization.
- Serve as the customer supply chain subject-matter expert and voice of the customer, deeply understanding customer systems, requirements, and KPIs to guide internal decision-making and risk mitigation.
- Lead end-to-end customer collaboration and performance management, including KPI/scorecard ownership, business reviews, replenishment insights, and proactive action plans to improve service metrics, inventory health, and minimize cost to serve.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives across Del Monte Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance, and IT teams, to optimize service, key customer event execution, customer compliance, supply chain efficiency, and deductions management to support delivery of Del Monte Foods Division Supply Chain Strategy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills Required:
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience working in customer supply chain, sales, customer service, logistics, or customer finance within Consumer-Packaged Goods industry.
- BA/BS degree in Supply Chain, Business Management or other related field.
- Expert-level performer in analytics and data presentation, including working within multiple data sources/systems, demonstrating a fundamental knowledge of customer and supply chain systems, and presenting data in a way that can be understood by a broad professional team.
- Experience with customer systems, such as Retail Link, 84.51, Partners Online, Vendor Central, etc.
- Experience with Joint Business Planning and presentations.
- High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, MS Word, and Teams/Zoom.
- Excellent professional relationship building, intrapersonal skills, and teamwork experience required.
- Excellent customer service/relationship skills demonstrated.
- Experience working day to day with major retailers and customer contacts.
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks, showing initiative as both an independent and a team contributor.
- Ability to pursue customer and internal team goals with a purpose and persevere through challenges, adopting an ownership mindset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with SAP a plus.
- Experience with data visualization platforms, such as MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau is a strong plus.
- Experience in project management preferred.
