MMJ/Multimedia Journalist:

ABC57 News in South Bend, Indiana is looking for a driven journalist to join the news team. ABC57 is an award-winning newsroom focused on delivering impactful local news and storytelling. We are committed to gathering responsible, meaningful stories that make a difference in our community, not just “content.”


About the Role

· Enterprise original stories and be a good source builder

· Use strong writing skills, camera presence, and time management abilities

· Bring video shooting and editing proficiency

· Be kind, collaborative team players in the newsroom


What You’ll Do

· Bring story ideas and leads to the newsroom

· Turn at least one story per day in multiple formats, including a written web article

· Adhere to management’s guidance on editorial decisions

· Use social media to develop stories and share story updates

· Deliver live reports for the newscast daily

· Shoot and edit video for on-air and online

· Pivot news stories in a breaking news situation

· Other duties, as assigned


What You’ll Need

· A valid driver’s license

· Submit a demo reel

· Demonstrate proficiency in writing, spelling, grammar, and the English language

· Have no affiliation with brand sponsorships, influencer perks, or any other real or perceived conflicts of interest

· Be proficient in using social media

· Be willing to work late nights/early mornings, and sometimes weekends

· Have experience with video cameras, non-linear editing, and rundown software is preferred

· Have the ability to stand for long periods of time and hold heavy objects
