A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Full-Time, On-Site, Microbiology Development Scientist in Vernon Hills, IL!

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Microbiology Development Scientist to join a growing laboratory team in Vernon Hills, IL. This role supports daily microbiology lab operations, ensuring compliance with standard procedures while maintaining high-quality scientific practices.

Microbiology Development Scientist Compensation

  • The pay for this position is $29.13/hr
  • Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment

Microbiology Development Scientist Highlights

  • This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
  • The required availability for this position is Monday–Friday 8am-5pm

Microbiology Development Scientist Responsibilities

· Perform routine laboratory maintenance, including propagating bacterial cultures

· Prepare media, reagents, and assist with general lab setup (labeling plates/tubes, restocking supplies)

· Follow established SOPs and scientific methods while adhering to quality and safety guidelines

· Maintain inventory control of laboratory materials, including media and reagents

· Assist with qualification, validation, and calibration of laboratory equipment and instruments

· Accurately document all lab activities in compliance with GDP (Good Documentation Practices)

· Support additional laboratory tasks and projects as assigned

Microbiology Development Scientist Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field
  • 1–2 years of hands-on laboratory experience
  • Familiarity with microbiology techniques and laboratory best practices
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate documentation

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in regulated environments (GMP, GLP, or similar)
  • Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and calibration processes
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
