Job Summary
As an R&D Specialist, you will execute tests and experiments in a research and development environment, record data, run equipment, and serve as a core member of Rangeview's materials R&D team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, practical, and comfortable working directly with lab tools, materials, and equipment. A successful candidate will demonstrate determination, integrity, strong documentation habits, and the ability to keep R&D work moving in a fast-paced technical environment.

Responsibilities
Maintain lab and production spaces as clean, organized, and safe working environments.
Execute detailed test plans, including material formulation, testing, sample preparation, and equipment configuration.
Run and maintain a variety of equipment, including 3D printers, mixers, analytical instruments, and similar R&D tools.
Create detailed documentation of results, observations, equipment settings, deviations, and test conditions during execution.
Play an active role in R&D team discussions by contributing observations and information from test execution to help interpret results and plan upcoming efforts.
Propose and, when appropriate, execute tests independently to support R&D team goals.
Support equipment readiness by performing basic upkeep, cleaning, setup, and troubleshooting as needed.
Perform practical, hands-on tasks required to keep R&D tests moving, including urgent material sourcing, equipment monitoring, and after-hours support when needed.
Minimum Qualifications
2+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing, research, laboratory, technical, or R&D environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with lab tools such as analytical equipment, scales, pipettes, mixers, or similar equipment.
Strong hands-on aptitude and comfort working directly with tools, materials, and equipment.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to document work clearly and accurately.
Ability to follow test plans, procedures, safety requirements, and controlled documentation.
Must be able to work full-time on-site in El Segundo, CA.
Must be able to meet ITAR/U.S. export control requirements, including being a U.S. citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible for required authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of wet lab experience.
Experience working with complex equipment, technical tools, or experimental systems.
Experience working in a clean room environment.
Familiarity with lab safety procedures required for hazardous materials.
Experience with materials testing, formulation, sample preparation, analytical equipment, or process development.
Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, ceramics, polymers, chemistry, materials science, or a similar technical environment.
Additional Requirements
Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to support test execution, equipment monitoring, urgent troubleshooting, or R&D deadlines.
Must be comfortable working in lab, production, and industrial environments.
Must be able to follow all safety protocols when working with materials, equipment, tools, and chemical processes.
Must be comfortable standing for long periods, performing hands-on work, and supporting equipment or test operations as needed.

Compensation: $62,000 - $105,000 annually + equity
Level 2: $62,000 - $82,000 annually + equity
Level 3 / Senior: $78,000 - $105,000 annually + equity
