Position Overview:
The Intra-Store Delivery Driver/Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations and delivering products between stores and customers. This includes operating delivery vehicles, ensuring shipments are inspected for damages, and securing materials to prevent loss. In addition to driving duties, the associate assists with pulling orders, managing inventory, and maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment.

Driving Duties:

  • Operate various vehicles to deliver products, parts, or supplies in a timely and efficient manner. Types of vehicles may include:
    • Light-duty and non-CDL medium trucks. (Vans and 16'-26' box trucks, trailers)
  • Ensure shipments are inspected and damages or shortages are noted.
  • Take precautions to secure material within vehicle to avoid loss or damage.
  • Ensure safety by maintaining cleanliness of warehouse. Make sure that aisles are free of potential hazards. Report all unsafe conditions to management.

Warehouse Duties:
When not driving a delivery vehicle, assist with daily warehouse operations. Including but not limited to:

  • Accurately pulling/picking orders from pick tickets.
  • Verify vendor part numbers and Johnstone stock numbers for all incoming products. Determine proper bin number and/or location of incoming products. Store incoming products in proper location according to bin number or product sequence.
  • Prepare, pack, and scan (as appropriate), and stage products for inter-store transfer and customer pick-up and delivery in accordance with established standards (e.g., hazardous materials). Ensure that packaging is sufficient to avoid damage.
  • Process documentation necessary to ship inter-store transfers and customer orders, including bills of lading, packing lists, small parcel manifests and other necessary documents.
  • Load delivery vehicles and assist customers with will call pickups.
  • Process customer returns. Ensure returns are in sellable condition per company policy.
  • Perform periodic cycle counting on assigned items to keep accurate records of inventory. Verify actual counts of stock against computerized records. Investigate and report discrepancies.
  • Always wear protective equipment according to company policies and procedures. Access Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) as needed and when appropriate.
  • Maintain required hazardous materials, forklift, and other internal and external certifications.
