Job Description

Title: Superintendent (Public & Commercial Renovations)

Location: Northeastern Massachusetts

Compensation: $50 – $60/hour

Duration: 6-Months with potential for extension/conversion

Schedule: Mon–Fri, 07:00 AM Start; 40 hours per week

Position Overview

A rapidly expanding General Contractor specializing in high-stakes public and commercial renovations is seeking a high-caliber Superintendent to manage a portfolio of 2–3 active job sites simultaneously.

Our firm operates with a high-discipline, "organized trade" mentality—prioritizing extreme documentation, high-quality craftsmanship, and rigorous site management. This role is designed for a tech-savvy field leader capable of overseeing complex MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) upgrades in occupied environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Multi-Site Supervision: Direct and coordinate subcontractors across multiple locations; maintain 3-week lookaheads and pivot schedules in real-time to hit delivery milestones.
  • Digital Project Documentation: Execute comprehensive daily reports via cloud-based project management software (Buildertrend/Procore), including detailed site photos and progress summaries.
  • Technical Oversight: Masterfully interpret blueprints and specs with a focus on high-density residential and municipal standards.
  • Safety & QC: Enforce strict OSHA standards and company-specific quality benchmarks for finishing and site organization.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary field contact for Project Managers and Owners to ensure alignment on budget and timelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Licensing: Valid Construction Supervisor License (CSL) is mandatory.
  • Experience: 5+ years in commercial construction or state-funded renovation projects.
  • Background: Strong preference for candidates with experience in large-scale union environments or a background in the union trades.
  • Technical Proficiency: Must be highly "iPad literate"—comfortable using Buildertrend, Procore, or Bluebeam for real-time reporting and plan review.
  • Knowledge Base: Deep expertise in metal stud framing, MEP coordination, and ADA accessibility requirements.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Logistics: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between local regional sites.
