Job DescriptionJob Summary:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Water Treatment Salesperson is responsible for generating sales while leading and motivating sales representatives to reach organizational sales goals.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage an assigned sales territory, proactively identifying and developing sales opportunities in industrial and municipal markets.
- Cultivate strong working relationships with Engineers and Plant Personnel within the target markets to establish trust and rapport.
- Create new business opportunities by calling directly on prospective clients.
- Develop and present sales proposals to prospective clients, effectively communicating the value of the offered solutions.
- Prepare and deliver technical equipment sales presentations to showcase the benefits and features of the products. Focus on new account development.
- Successfully introduce and support technical products, providing guidance on water treatment solutions.
- Conduct water analyses, review operator logs, write reports, manage inventory, adjust chemical feed and control equipment, and place product orders to optimize water treatment processes.
- Track projects from inception to completion, maintaining ongoing contact with Engineering and Plant Personnel throughout the design and bidding stages.
- Review equipment specifications and collaborate with Engineers as specifications are developed to ensure product alignment.
- Conduct site surveys to assess water management needs and develop comprehensive plans related to the control of legionnaires' disease.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or an applied science.
- A minimum of 5 years of water treatment sales experience.
- Experience in industrial water treatment, including but not limited to treatment of steam boilers, cooling towers, closed loops, and wastewater systems.
Physical Requirements: Heavy
- Regularly lift and move objects weighing up to 55 lbs.
- Frequently stand, walk, use hands and fingers for handling and feeling items, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
