Job Title: Purchasing Clerk
Type of Role: Contract to Hire
Shift / Hours: Monday - Friday / 8:30am - 5pm
Location: Campbell, CA
Hourly Range: $23 - $30/hr DOE
Role and Responsibilities:
• Create, process, and track purchase orders, requisitions, and supplier invoices using NetSuite and Bill.com
• Maintain accurate purchasing and cost records to support planning, financial reporting, and audit requirements
• Work closely with Finance to ensure purchasing adheres to internal compliance requirements
• Coordinate with vendors to confirm pricing, lead times, delivery schedules, and order status
• Follow up on back orders or delayed shipments to ensure timely material flow • Verify incoming materials – quantities, specifications, and pricing, against purchase orders and invoices
• Support inventory control activities, including receiving, cycle counts, and monitoring stock levels to identify critical order needs on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Partner with Operations, Production, and Maintenance teams to ensure materials are available for scheduled work
• Prepare and maintain reports, spreadsheets, and documentation within NetSuite, Bill.com, and Microsoft Office to support purchasing, order fulfillment, and recordkeeping
• Support sales order fulfillment, including document scanning and record management
• Assist in resolving material, vendor, and transactional issues
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to resolve discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with purchasing policies, ISO procedures, and documentation standards
• Perform other duties as assigned, responsibilities may be updated as business needs develop
Skills and Experience:
• Strong Microsoft Office knowledge
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and data entry accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic production environment
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment
• Willing to continuously learn and train additional tasks as needed for job requirements.
• Regularly, timely attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Must be able to follow established policies and procedures and comply with regulatory requirements
• Must have the ability to recognize problems, recommend and implement solutions
• Must be well organized and possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities concurrently
• Must work well with others and be a team player
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• AA degree or equivalent in Finance, Business, or Supply Chain Management (preferred)
• 2-4 years of purchasing or materials control experience, preferably in a semiconductor, industrial, or manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of purchasing processes, vendor relations, and cost tracking
• Hands-on experience managing inventory transactions
• Working knowledge of Finance or ERP systems (NetSuite and Bill.com is a plus)
