Job DescriptionLHH Recruitment is partnering with a company in Queens to fill a Full-Charge Bookkeeper position. This is a temp to hire position, onsite and paying $30 hourly and $75K annually.
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Full-Charge Bookkeeper/Accountant to manage the full spectrum of accounting activities across multiple entities. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with strong technical accounting expertise, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role is integral to ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency within our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
· Review, enter, and code all vendor invoices and expenses in the internal accounting system with accuracy.
· Prepare cash-management vendor reports.
· Process vendor payments and maintain positive vendor relationships.
· Provide customer service to vendors regarding balances, discrepancies, and documentation requirements.
· Create and maintain vendor accounts, ensuring profiles are accurate and up to date.
· Reconcile vendor statements, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly.
· Prepare and file annual 1099s.
Accounts Receivable
· Reconcile cash receipts to customer accounts and/or project records.
· Collaborate proactively with internal departments to support and expedite collections.
· Prepare and submit daily bank deposits.
General Ledger / Month-End
· Oversee the general ledger and all related accounting functions.
· Lead month-end close, including bank and credit card reconciliations, balance sheet review, and adjusting journal entries.
· Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to implementing best practices.
· Prepare financial documentation and reports for annual audits and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting (preferred, not required).
Minimum 8+ years progressive experience in a full-charge accounting role.
Experience managing multi-entity accounting strongly preferred.
Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop, Bill.com, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated, dependable, and a collaborative team player.
