The role of the Registered Nurse in the Behavioral Health sector involves delivering patient care through the nursing process, ensuring accountability, and collaborating with various departments. This position is situated in a newly established adult behavioral health unit accommodating up to 10 beds. Candidates must possess a valid RN license along with essential certifications such as BLS, and potentially ACLS or PALS.   • Employ the nursing process to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accountability for the care provided to assigned patients.

Qualifications:

Education: Completion of a nursing program (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure: Must obtain and maintain a current RN license in the state of employment or possess compact licensure, fulfilling all state board requirements.

Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or completion of the course within 30 days of hire.
  • Additional certifications may be required based on the specific unit, including but not limited to:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
    • CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurse)
    • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
    • S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support)
    • C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
    • Other unit-specific certifications as necessary.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to regularly push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing and walking required during shifts.
  • Capability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed for job functions.
