Job Description: Manufacturing Engineer
Join our dynamic special process group as a Manufacturing Engineer, focusing primarily on brazing and laser welding. You will play a crucial role in providing technical support, troubleshooting process issues, and assisting operators in maintaining efficient workflows. This position involves a significant amount of time on the manufacturing floor, working closely with the Materials lab and being involved in process implementation.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve basic process issues.
- Assist operators in maintaining workflows and process efficiency.
- Design and implement floor layouts and cell designs with a focus on special processes.
- Work closely with the Materials lab for part validation and sectioning.
- Implement new processes, specify new equipment, and create new workstations.
- Develop work instructions and process drawings.
- Collaborate with design teams to provide feedback from operations and assist in tooling procurement.
- Focus on process improvement rather than day-to-day operations.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in manufacturing engineering and project management.
- Experience in assembly, manufacturing processes, and work instruction creation.
- Automation and machining expertise.
- Brazing and laser welding knowledge.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical) or 6+ years of experience.
- For entry-level: Internship experience and a 3.0 GPA are highly preferred.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and documentation maintenance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- CAD experience is essential, with CREO being a plus.
- Experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
- Project management capabilities.
- Experience in PFMEA development and improvement.
- Supportive knowledge of APQP/DFMEA.
- Any experience in brazing or laser welding is advantageous.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Rockford, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $50.00/hr.
