Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
Job Type: Contract (33 Weeks)
Local Pay Rate: $1,800 - $1,900 Weekly
Traveler Pay Rate: $2,200 - $2,350 Weekly
Weekly Hours: 36 Hours
Shift: Nights
Schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide comprehensive respiratory care services for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have ICU experience, ventilator management expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

• Active New Jersey Respiratory Care License.

• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Certification.

• Current AHA BLS Certification.

• Current AHA ACLS Certification.

• Current AHA PALS Certification.

• Minimum one (1) year of recent RRT experience.

• Minimum one (1) year of ICU experience.

• Previous ventilator management experience required.

• Experience working in an acute care hospital setting.

• Ability to float to ICU and intermediate care units as needed.

• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy treatments under physician direction.

• Perform cardiopulmonary assessments and diagnostic evaluations.

• Assist with intubations and airway management procedures.

• Set up, monitor, and manage ventilators for critically ill patients.

• Administer respiratory medications and therapeutic treatments.

• Educate patients and caregivers regarding respiratory conditions and treatment plans.

• Monitor patient responses to therapy and modify care plans as appropriate.

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

• Maintain accurate and timely respiratory care documentation.

• Respond to respiratory emergencies and provide critical care support.

• Float to ICU and intermediate care units as required.

• Maintain compliance with hospital safety, infection control, and quality standards.
