Job Description

About the Organization

We are an established technology-driven organization specializing in advanced measurement and engineered systems that support highly regulated and performance-critical industries. Our solutions range from fully integrated systems to high-precision components, designed to meet demanding technical and operational requirements. We offer a collaborative, forward-thinking environment where engineers can take ownership of impactful projects from concept through deployment.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to lead the development of complex mechanical products with full lifecycle responsibility. This role involves ownership of design, analysis, documentation, manufacturing integration, and on-site installation. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in structural analysis and machine design, along with the ability to lead technical efforts and interface confidently with cross-functional teams and customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Project Ownership: Lead all phases of mechanical product development, including concept design, detailed analysis, documentation, manufacturing integration, and field installation.
  • Mechanical Design & Analysis: Perform structural analysis, machine design, and selection of precision motion and drive components (e.g., bearings, gearboxes, encoders, servomotors).
  • Manufacturability & Integration: Optimize designs for cost-effective fabrication, assembly, and integration of precision positioning systems.
  • Engineering Analysis: Apply strength of materials principles, static/dynamic/thermal analysis, safety factors, buckling, modal analysis, and weldment design.
  • Compliance & Standards: Support product compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards (e.g., CE or equivalent).
  • Collaboration & Communication: Demonstrate strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills; effectively present technical concepts and engage with internal stakeholders and customers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
  • 5+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
  • Strong foundation in mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD for complex mechanical systems (SolidWorks or similar)
  • Ability to produce detailed engineering drawings using ANSI Y14.5 GD&T standards
  • Weldment design and documentation per AWS D1.1, D1.2, or equivalent standards
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA), including stress, safety margins, buckling, and modal analysis
  • Design experience with machine elements (bearings, fasteners, gears, gearboxes, motors, etc.)
  • Understanding of closed-loop servo systems and motion control optimization
  • Knowledge of classical statics and strength of materials
  • Familiarity with precision machining and welding processes
  • Proven experience developing complex products and systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States and eligibility to access export-controlled technical information
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 30%)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience developing complex mechanical systems and products
  • Hands-on experience with machine assembly and on-site system installation
