We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Piping Designer to join our dynamic team. The Senior Piping Designer will be responsible for leading a drafting team whose responsibility will be preparing layouts and designs of complex piping systems utilizing modeling software. They may occasionally be called upon to function as a Project Lead, Drafting Checker, or Coordinator on Projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
DESIGN
- Prepare complete design packages which may include, but not be limited to, preliminary, conceptual, and construction deliverables as well as engineering calculations.
- Prepare detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from layouts, designs and working drawings including necessary projections, sectional views and standard specifications.
- Interpret verbal or written direction to initiate a preliminary design.
- Assemble information and reference drawings from a variety of sources.
- Accomplished in equipment and piping layout from concept PFD & P&ID
- Check sketches and drawings for project applicability and optimal construction.
- Check and verify accuracy of drawings prepared by others.
- Achieve goals for the timely compilation of deliverables and drawings packages
- Interface with stress and pipe support engineers, construction, and suppliers during the preparation of piping designs for the purpose of model/space control, etc.
- Prepare parts lists, procurement lists, bills of material (BOM) and specifications when drawings are complete.
- Revise lists, drawings and BOM consistent with engineering changes.
DRAFTING
- Work experience in 2D detail drawings and drafting standards to complete IFA (Issued for Approval), IFB (Issued for Bid), IFC (Issued for Construction), IDC (Inter-Discipline Check) and As-built drawing packages in accordance with company standard drawing format and procedures.
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of 3D models / 2D drawings based on the scope of delivery for gas processing skids
- Development / configuration of smart 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings for complete gas processing packages (Isometrics, P&IDs, General Arrangement, I&E drawings, etc.)
- Design and specification of technical components, assemblies and systems using CAD software
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in drafting mechanical components, layouts, assemblies, fabrication drawings, and/or packaged skid units
- Proficient software experience preferred/required with PDMS (AVEVA E3D), AutoCad and Microsoft Office is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in 2D and 3D, paper / model space, dynamic blocks, xrefs, layering, plot styles, etc..
- Competent in developing and updating Site Plans, Equipment Plans, Piping Plans and Elevations, Piping Isometric Drawings, and 3D Models.
- MUST have the knowledge of what is required to design and draft a piping project from start to finish.
- Be a self-starter, manage your time well, and be able to work with little to no direction.
- Ability and knowledge to set-up, maintain, and document company drafting and design standards.
- Also be able to understand and apply the customers drafting / design standards to drawings and models as required.
- Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
