About the Opportunity

A global leader in precision manufacturing technology is seeking an Electrical Controls Supervisor to support machine build operations and lead the integration of control systems across high-performance production equipment.

This mid-level role is ideal for an experienced controls engineer ready to take the next step into leadership. You’ll work directly with senior engineers and management, guiding a small team of 2–3 while remaining hands-on with electrical design, PLC programming, and machine commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor a small team of controls engineers and technicians on electrical and automation projects.

  • Design, review, and implement electrical control systems, including hardware layouts, schematics, and documentation.

  • Support PLC and HMI programming, integration, and debugging (Siemens and/or Allen Bradley platforms).

  • Coordinate with mechanical and software engineers to ensure seamless machine functionality and project alignment.

  • Oversee machine installation, startup, and customer runoff—both in-house and occasionally on-site.

  • Review project progress with management, tracking schedules, labor hours, and costs.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company standards throughout the build process.

  • Provide technical guidance to resolve issues quickly and maintain high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in controls design, automation, or machine tool systems.

  • 1–3 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Proficiency with EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical and industrial network systems (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet, Canbus).

  • Working knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7, WinCC, or Allen Bradley Studio 5000.

  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational ability.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for installations or customer support.

Why Join This Team

  • Be part of a world-renowned precision engineering company with over 90 years of innovation.

  • Lead meaningful projects while still being hands-on in your craft.

  • Collaborate with highly skilled engineers and global customers.

  • Excellent pay, benefits, and long-term career advancement potential.

  • Supportive, team-oriented culture with a focus on craftsmanship and quality.
